Whilst everyone is familiar with Propaganda iconography and the large scale public sculpture follies from the soviet states, it seems that commercial design didn’t die out in the same way that collective farms may have suppressed the pursuit of personal profit.
For a lot of soviet graphic and industrial design it seemed that function over form was the preference but this created a very interesting output.
The logos in this feed are all presented in their basic form (black on a plain background) and the simplicity of design isn’t that different to other logos of the era. Well worth revisiting occasionally.
