what

With a broad educational background encompasing photography, media studies, cinema studies, art history, marketing and business operations, I am somewhat reluctant to specify a particular discipline or approach.

I like to think that I design a message. The expression of this message usually falls into one of 4 categories, web, multimedia, print and concept. It is more important that a piece of design achieves a communications objective than it conforms to a particular form. Does it really need to be a brochure? Would it work better as a CD? Is a website the best vehicle?

Multidisciplined approach and a wider understanding of where a particular piece of design sits in the greater engine. What I design is a creative means to an end.
who for

Design is usually for someone with something to say. I like to work with clients collaboratively to design a message or a concept.

Clients to date have included Orange, PricewaterhouseCoopers Australia, Shell, London Innovation, London Underground, Credit Suisse and BHP Billiton. Other clients have been Local People records, Pelosi Film Productions and Selfridges.
why

I read a quote somewhere recently that went along the lines of "who ever said a picture was worth 1000 words is missing the point".

The visual language is something that can't really be compared to written or oral communication. I have always been interested in expressing things visually and find it much easier to explain a concept with a pen in my hand and paper near by than just using words.

And don't get me started on mass media, mass communication or branding. I'll chew your ear off given half the chance. I have been accused of getting a bit too fired up about branding, but what can I say...? It's probably true.
